for Participants

 

Thank you for participating in the Picton Canadian Tire Canada Day Celebration! Below you will find all relevant information the event taking place on Main Street.

EVENT DETAILS

Street Closure: 8am – 7pm (Elizabeth Street to the Town Hill)

Vendor Set-up: 10:30am -12pm

Event: 12pm -5pm

Opening Ceremonies: 12pm at the Main Stage (in front of Scotiabank)

SAFETY OFFICERS

Volunteers will be monitoring the set-up of each vendor booth and event element to ensure that they are sufficiently secured and that there are no tripping hazards.

 

EMERGENCIES

In the event of an emergency call 911 immediately.

The fire department will be present at the Elizabeth Street crosswalk.

An OPP officer will be present at the Town Hill.

Please notify someone at the information booth of the emergency.

 

INFORMATION

The information booth will be located in front of the Armoury with a map and schedules to answer any questions event attendees might have.

Schedules for live music and demonstrations will be on display at the Main Stage.

 

WASHROOMS

Public washrooms will be available in the following spots:

  • Benson Park

  • 2 Porta-potties and 1 handwashing station at Main & Ross (Service Canada)

  • The Library’s washrooms will be open to the public until 4pm

 

 

FOR VENDORS

  • Please use Ross Street for drop-off and pick-up

  • Free Parking in Market Lane and at the King Street lot

  • Please ensure that your tents/canopies are PROPERLY WEIGHTED DOWN

  • You can find cinder blocks in the parking lot behind the Library. Please stack them as you found them at the end of the day. There will be dollies and hand trucks at the library.

  • Propane tanks must be at least 1 meter away from any permanent structure and be accompanied by a fire extinguisher

  • Please adhere to the site map plan to ensure smooth set-up and a fun day

  • A lane must be kept open for emergency vehicles at all times

 

TEAR DOWN

  • The event on Main Street will end at 5pm

  • The road block barriers will not be removed until EVERYTHING has been cleared from the street.

  • Please take your garbage with you, or ensure that it has been properly disposed of. This is a community event, and we are relying on everyone to pitch in.

IN CASE OF RAIN

Currently the forecast looks good. The event will continue in light rain (although some elements may not run). Please check the Experience Picton Facebook and Instagram accounts on the morning of the event for updates. @experiencepicton


LIMIT SINGLE-USE PLASTICS

  • Please bring a reusable water bottle

  • There will be two water bottle fill stations:

    • Library (with misting tent)

    • Blue Sail Restaurant (266 Main St.)
